Trans.	wə‘ēlî ben-tišə‘îm ûšəmōneh šānâ wə‘ênāyw qāmâ wəlō’ yāḵwōl lirə’wōṯ:

AC	טו ועלי בן תשעים ושמנה שנה ועיניו קמה ולא יכול לראות
ASV	Now Eli was ninety and eight years old; and his eyes were set, so that he could not see.
BE	Now Eli was ninety-eight years old, and his eyes were fixed so that he was not able to see.
